Classic Tobeye
A classic lure design popular the world over. The tobeye is widely used for trout in the Smaller 7-12g sizes. While the heavier weights of 18g-28g are used to great affect on many Salmon rivers.
They have been a popular lure fishing for Pike and Perch too.
These spinners are also very effective in salt water.Â
The silver lures are often used in search of sea bass but I have used all colours to great effect fishing for Pollock and Coalfish. These lures will catch mackerel with ease too. As long as something has the ability to draw the attention of mackerel they will probably take it and these will definitely do that on the retrieve.Â
When the lure is retrieved the shape of it makes the water move the lure in a motion that will mimic the swimming action of a real life fish. This is why these styles of lure have been so popular and have been responsible for catching large numbers of fish consistently over the last 5 decades. Like the saying goes 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'Â
One of the true classics in the lure world.
